When Your Client Pops off with “You owe me a martini”…

Frances Client Story Tlg

Meet Frances

When your client is explaining to the escrow agent the many benefits of the loan she’s signing up for, it’s almost better than the martini she’s committed to make you when our paperwork and home tour are complete.

That was my afternoon with Frances, a force in every sense of the word.

Done with the commute from the Portland metro area to Central Oregon pulling her 19’ Airstream trailer to recreate with her quilting and knitting community, she sold her home in Portland, purchased a lot in Sisters OR, subdivided said lot, built a stunning custom home with a guest house and then took the advice of her financial advisor to secure her financial future with a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage.

Frances, captured in the photo above enjoying life, gave me a resounding YES when I asked permission to share her story.

Her primary goal is clearly to enjoy the journey and shoring up her finances is a priority. Her savvy financial advisor plans to slow the spend down of her invested assets in down markets, mixing in a portion of her home equity from her growing line of credit made available with the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage.

Draws from the line are not taxable, require no repayment and financial modeling of expected draws has future Frances with a legacy to leave her two children and three grandchildren plus a life filled with experiences absent of financial worry.

As for the owed martini, I actually owed her one for some document diving during the process. As it turns out, she makes a mean martini and prefers the comfort of her patio.

Can I please have some more Frances in my life? And with any luck, can I be just like her.
