Through some twists and turns these two were troopers. They thought they owned a manufactured home. Nope, modular. Siding had to be removed to determine that.
They thought they had employment income to help qualifying. Nope, laid off part way through the process jeopardizing qualifying. I’ll stop there, as you get the idea.
After getting a taste of unexpected life events ranging from health to employment, Robert and Susan were ready to solidify their ability to stay in the home. We navigated the twists and turns, paid off their existing mortgage with a payment optional Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) and put some breathing room into the job search timeline.
Best part, they can comfortably stay in and maintain their home of 24 years that backs to a protected wetland they refer to as “the lake”. Their front row seat to nesting bald eagles and beavers building dams is theirs for as long as they choose to stay.
They were adorable and asked if all my clients were this challenging. The answer, it’s not the clients, it’s life.
